Guild Wars 2 patches in first-person view and map exploration changes

After a one-week delay, Guild Wars 2 has delivered a much-anticipated first-person view to the waiting eyes of players.

Today’s patch is a hodge-podge of general improvements starting with additional camera options, including a field of view slider, a zoom sensitivity slider, a collision sensitivity slider, and the aforementioned ability to zoom into first-person mode.

Players now have access to the beta version of the streaming client, won’t have to go into WvW zones to finish world completion, and can hover over the map to see flashing icons indicating incomplete objectives. Finally, there’s been a change to the stability boon to make it an intensity stack type.

pcgneurotic McSleaz Why ?

I bought the game on release day and pve’d only the first month or 2 after that i only pvp’ed for about 6 months. right now asfter that time a week ago i logged back in for the first time after having my gf getting the game too and guess what. We are only pvp’ing again and we are having a great time with it together.

We need our heads examined for what again? Because we are not having fun in the way you are having?

The bugs make me sad, but I’m doing the happy dance over the map change. Specifically, the ability to highlight that last pesky PoI/Vista/Heart you need to complete a map by hovering over the incomplete category in the map completion legend. My guildmates will be relieved they no longer have to play “Ping the Map” with me, too.

SoMuchMass GW1 did it before ESO.

MatthewRiddle Broguy89 Other than the guild chat bug, (which there is a simple work around), I haven’t had any issues.

Kalamari BriarGrey Yep, hence the need to raise the original character up to level 20 so my new character that I was playing could see all that stuff.  My point was that it’s weird to gate something like that.  I mean seriously, there’s a vista in the start area that you find around level 4-5 — so why keep me from seeing it on the map? ;)

SoMuchMass I clearly remember being able to do this in WoW ages before ESO. Not saying WoW was first either.
