Gazillion to tune Marvel Heroes characters ‘at least once a month’

There’s a big ol’ update on the Marvel Heroes forums, courtesy of Doomsaw and featuring some interesting news regarding both scheduling and Gazillion’s tuning philosophy going forward.

Character tuning will happen “at least once a month,” Gaziilion says, with the ultimate goal being to move all of the game’s heroes to “top tier” status which will enable them to be used for tough content like raids, cosmic game modes, high-difficulty Danger Room scenarios, and the like.

Just leave Scarlet Witch alone, well, except for the Legion thing as I understand it is too good to be left as is. She is the one character I have that can do most of the content. Move the rest up to Cap, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, etc levels.
Next week is going to be a great week.

groo the wanderer Yep, I would definitely play that if it was in City of Heroes style, updated with new technology/gameplay of course.

ammalis boredinBC Krysanthia Thibbledorf Pwent She’s my go to “Oh crap!” button.  I need to remember to use her more consistently in my rotation, but she adds great burst damage.  My single most used Team Up.  I hope she survives the change.

I would love to see an proper mmo set in the Marvel Universe where you could create your own hero .

boredinBC Krysanthia Thibbledorf Pwent she is one of best active team-ups.  She is great when leveling new heroes.
I’m waiting for planned change with team-up 2.0. Gazzilion plans to  change them all.

One thing keeping me away from Marvel Heroes has always been the abysmal hero balance of it. The differences in power are crazy, so crazy that many heroes are simply not viable for anything serious. Add to that the extremely slow hero revamp strategy that they had. Which did buff old heroes to new levels, but it took so long that they would never cover all of them before more would become obsolete.

More active balancing should at least in theory work perfectly for the game. While there are far more heroes than there are classes in most games, they are also not as complex. However they are not simple either so the devs do have their work cut out for them.
