As can be seen with Echo of Soul hype does not equal quality, On the other hand a lack of hype does not mean a bad game. I am currently play Aura Kingdom which got little hype, in part because it went from announcement to launch in under 3 months. Even though it has had 7 content updates since launch it has been under the radar because Aeria Games does not do post launch promotion. It is a casul focused game and so not for everyone, but I have been playing since beta and still log in almost every day, Favorite feature is the party finder which has taken my group play from less than 5%   of my . game time to more than 25% of my game time. Aura kingdom does have an 85% pasotive rating ..on Steam. An interesting decision by X-Legend was to not show the armor in the game just your costume. You do get several costumes from quests and some as rare loot drops. There are also several available in the auction house for only a few gold. So what do you think of this idea? This would be a good game for Justin to play with his kids or his wife. Tell her she can play a bard and have a pet unicorn. And Bree there is a housing system in the pipeline.

On water nymphs- in DDO, you can play a druid and spec into becoming an elemental. It might be close?

GW2’s chain whip sword is lame. It only animates for certain skills, rather than all of them. You can watch a demo video on Dulfy if you’re curious. (http://dulfy.net/2015/05/26/gw2-chain-whip-sword-and-mad-scientist-outfit-now-available/)

goettel That’s more than a fair point. In that scenario, I’d have to wait until WoW is in severe decline, and I don’t want to wish for that day to come either. Bah!

TomTurtle As long as WoW is doing amazing (and it still is, compared to any other MMO), I doubt they will. Why would they get in the ring with themselves?

Oh no, I hope that race question doesn’t make my culture question moot. D:
I’m sure the Marvel Heroes developers saw little profit in the potions as the main motivator to drop them. Talk up the change as a PR boost, doesn’t hurt!
I wonder if WildStar will get nearly as much coverage now before they make the conversion. It’s hard to top that model transition news after all.

AvatarOP Say whaaat? No way, not Blizzard… :P
It was inevitable. Blizzard is good at adopting trends and making them their own. It does make me sad though that they’ve moved away from MMOs so much. I wish they’d make another. :(

Been waiting for Wildstar to change up their model, so just ordered a box copy to get the game time/possible mount then will probably re-sub through to the conversion. One of those dumb/colorful games that makes me happy to wander in to make me forget the boringness of work and life-junk

Another fun and fantastic episode!  I enjoyed the lovely day and the podcast on a nice stroll this afternoon.  The multi-boxing discussion brought back memories of Dark Age of Camelot’s buffbot days of old.

The Evil Genius Bosses (EGB) at WB Games (destroyer of what was formally Turbine) listens to the podcast and hears : @15:00 Bree says – Turbine has proved they have multiple times used the profits of one game to support the others.

**Jumping to action the EGB grabs the phone and yells to some poor person on the production teams** –  Quick!! Shut down whatever the last thing is we launched!  Someone thinks we are still “Powered by Our Fans”!…….This Infinite Crisis thing has only been out a few months you say? Even better!!! **slams down the phone**   Muwhahaha!

So totally want to play a Jawa. They are like skinny Dwarves with no beards, always working on droids, got a blaster and an attitude for any problem.

Justin re Marvel Heroes:
Hawkeye is not my favourite character either but he is worth grinding out to 50 for his +crit synergy which is useful for a lot of heroes (use one of the events to get it out of the way if you don’t enjoy him such as Midtown Madness.)

Colossus is usually seen as a face tank hero but one that is falling behind the power curve.  That said I play him as pet class as he does have those options available to in his third class tree.  If you spec him for +summons skills and use items that also summon additional pets its can make him a little more fun to play. :-)

i don’t know…
but blizzard is moving HEAVILY into the F2P zone…

“oh my lovely blizzard, maker of the true and only mmo, king of subscription models, immortal beyond everything”

and yet, blizzard is pushing out “mini arena pvp game as f2p” (their last 3 games).

the answer is quite clear…. mobile gaming and f2p mini games are where its at for the wallet… anything else (grand productions aka witcher3, expansive mmos, kickstarted rpgs a la Pillars of Eternity) is NICHE.
