I was having all sorts of trouble logging in on ps4 at first, then when I was in the lag made it unplayable. Yesterday I had no issues getting in, then after a bit the lag cleared up and it was going just fine.

Logged in just fine again this morning, its a bit laggy but not like the other night when I tried playing.

Nope each platform has seperate region based “megaservers”

I actually think GW2 and Wildstar are MADE for a console version..If ANET released them on consoles they’d make a mint. Hell wildstars style honestly reminds me of Jack and Daxter/Spyro so if it gets ps4 only pitch it that way.
As for servers if they could let everyone share servers it would be awesome.

“a known display bug that’s causing the queue numbers for the game to display incorrectly.” Hmm isn’t that what they said about the pc beta?

SoMuchMass Omniel  Honestly speaking, FFXIV had it’s queue problems when it first launched for both PC and PS3. It was the exact same problem of underestimating popularity. They have since buckled down on this problem and a PS4 alone wouldn’t change much when a great deal are playing on the PS3 and don’t have a PS4 yet. They then offered an upgrade to PS4 so no sudden jump subs or anything.

Can ESO console players play with PC players?

Played a bit last night on my PS4.
Seemed that voice chat and the group finder weren’t working for me. Other than that the PS4 seemed to chug at time with lots of players around when I was in Daggerfall.
The graphics seem dull kinda and playing with a controller is gonna take some getting used to. But overall it was an OK experience.

Hahaha I am in the game. I play on PC! I laugh at you console players! hahahaha!

Yeah, I understand that point of view. I guess I’m just less forgiving than some she it comes to that. Probably because I work for a company that lies to its customers and employees, so I know how calculated and deliberate these decisions can be.

Omniel You do realize that WoW has been active for 10 years and they still have server issues with every expansion right?  When games are popular there are server issues.  I brought up WHO because you brought up review scores.  Maybe you need to stay on topic?
As I said FFXIV is good game if you like Japanese WoW with dated combat.  But it is not a good fit for the console crowd, which is why there were zero queues for the FFXIV console release because no one plays it there.

AvatarOP Omniel  I’m loving ESO and have played well over 100 hours. Guess to each his own. I never played Skyrim (I don’t play SP games), so maybe that colors my sunny disposition when it comes to ESO.

Omniel I’ve played both the PC and console version and would argue the console version feels a lot more like Skyrim due to the user interface difference.

Agreed, I really wanted to like ESO. I too am a fan of the series, and was looking forward to it’s release on console. But after all the negative comments from reviewers and players, plus the lack of something as basic as text chat I found myself being really turned me off by this game.

Omniel nobody will win i suppose :)
but i’m with you, eso sucks so bad that it hurt me as i was anticipating it greatly since skyrim was in my best game ever and i’m an mmo fan.

i expected a good game, i played.. over 100hours. and it sucked. sucked SO BAD.

but hey.. you see… when bethesda count their dollars.. well… they are 60$(box) + 15$(one month sub) richer because of me…

so yeah.. the IP got me and i got shat on.

Lol. You didn’t answer my question: How EXACTLY does ESO win? And why are you now bringing Warhammer and WoW expansions into this discussion? You do realize WoW expansions didn’t have one year betas on PC before coming to console right? Try to stay on topic.

sfrees80  I’m too busy enjoying ESO to care whether marketing people lie or don’t lie.

Over the next year, Z can just recycle all the old Customer Service comments and postings from a year ago.

Omniel Did you bring up review scores?  Warhammer Online has a better review scores than FFXIV 2.0 and is shutdown.  Poorly launched?  I guess every WoW expansion was poorly launched.
There was too much demand on the console servers, they said “millions”.  When comparing MMOs, you talk about strenghts and weaknesses.

sfrees80 It’s buy to play not free to play.

Exactly HOW does ESO win? It’s buggy, it was poorly launched, it has lower review scores, and on console it doesn’t even allow text chat. BTW, trying to downplay one mmo to try to make another mmo look better is probably not the best, nor the most mature way of making your point.

I dont beleive anything they say. After the constant lies they told prior to the free to play release they just cant be trusted.
Too bad. I was enjoying ESO but the lies just sucked out my enthusiasm for the game.

SoMuchMass Omniel thing with eso is that their combat is pretty lame too… but the idea of it is interesting.. its the engine that can’t pull it off.

and the bad animations. they don’t help. but main issue is the engine it just have that wonky, jumpy feel to it.

Omniel If you prefer Japanese WoW that has a 15 year old combat system, maybe.  But other than that, ESO wins.

Nope. ESO beats it hands down on any platform.

No. ESO is NOT “probably the best mmorpg option on console.” It’s not even close to that. Love it or not, FFXIV is the “best mmorpg option on console.”

Double-edged sword right now on consoles….current problems are due to popularity and hundreds of thousands of players trying to log in.

SoMuchMass AvatarOP true.. i forgot about star citizen :)

and, ok wildstar failed. no doubt here. as much as i like it… maybe f2p will put it back on “par”… i mean, not even sure :)

but gw2 is doing better for Anet than gw1. credit to those guys, they really started from the ground up without any mega IP or without copying 100% some other mmos.
and i’m sure their bank account is ok :)
honestly, even if you don’t like their games… as an mmo fan i think you should respect what they do.

AvatarOP SoMuchMass MMOs don’t have to be AAA to be good, we have seen pretty much all AAA MMOs fail especially the ones you like.  The market will fix itself, eventually a smaller company will make a great MMO and it will go from there.
Just like how Ark is doing so well in the survival genre, it has a lot of MMO features.

SoMuchMass AvatarOP have to say bethesda was ultra smart in all that… make a gigantic mmo for consoles and have the 1year beta test on PC first (cause SERIOUSLY, don’t tell me that wasn’t planned… they could have released on console first if they wanted…)

i mean.. they were fkin smart.
i still think the game sucks (but thats really not the point of the discussion).

business wise, they nailed it.

AvatarOP SoMuchMass The console MMO market will blow up soon when more people own the current generation of consoles.  Right if you want to play an MMO on PC you can literally play 100s and at least 20 decent ones for free.  On console there are 2 maybe 3.
The gold rush to MMO console has just begun.

AvatarOP

SoMuchMass yeah, eso is probably the best mmorpg option on console. plus it have that IP and people are less jaded about mmos in general.

it will do great on consoles.

Looks like the console version is way more popular than PC, especially this statement “the millions of active players now in ESOTU may require increased server capacity to reduce queues and alleviate any server performance issues.”  Don’t think they used the “millions” term with the PC launch.
I tried to log in last night and gave up after a 25 minute wait.
