Crowfall devs answer questions about stamina, DoTs, and more

Crowfall has published another installment of its combat chat video dev blog. Featured are designers Thomas Blair and Tully Ackland, who spend nearly six minutes answering combat-related questions from the crowdfunded title’s community. Most of the discussion centers on DoT effects, projectiles, and the stamina system.

Today’s vid is part one of two, with the second part scheduled for next week. There’s also a previous episode in the series, which we’ve embedded after the cut following today’s episode.

BrianSleider Radfist  Not really sure what your angle here is. You seem to just have a lot of hatred towards the fantasy theme?
Making a lot of assumptions based on some concept art and a few screenshots rather than actually reading the articles is just silly. No the game isn’t generic, but I doubt that matters to you since it is fantasy themed.

Radfist BrianSleider No I haven’t, because it looks generic and uninspired. Hence why I asked.

PaganRites Skyewauker It has a lot of strategy game elements, and it doesn’t have raiding. So it is not generic, at least. They are trying to be novel in a lot of things they do.

Bannex19 that’s pretty cynical.  I’m glad I don’t think that way.

The more these devs keep talking, the more I want to run…. run far away from this game.

It is a big hype-train money grab with no real gameplay footage as of right now.

BrianSleider Generic fantasy would be a quest hub pve game akin to WoW or Everquest.  For someone who has reportedly seen so many articles about this game, you certainly didn’t bother to read any of them.

BrianSleider
– Fully destructible worlds that eventually die (Character progression is permanent though)
– No holy trinity (No healers in game, though all classes will have some sort of small self healing/support abilities)
– Primary focus is PvP not PVE
Imagine LoL as a MMO with permanent characters
