Gloria Victis delivers whopper of an alpha update

It may just be one of Gloria Victis’ biggest updates yet.

The pre-alpha fantasy sandbox patched in several new and improved systems to the game, starting with (of course) achievements. Can’t have an MMO without achievements in this day and age, right? Gloria Victis might only have around 20 to start with, but players can level them up to earn rewards. The devs say that more are in the works.

The update also added more helpful tutorials, a skill queuing system, log-in rewards, a friends list, and several combat fixes. The title recently added the first iteration of its siege system for PvP warfare as well.

Sleeper hit bookmark me.
The hipsters will crowd this game after release and people realize it’s what darkfall should have been.

Where is the link to the source? I want to read the patch notes or something. What the hell Massively. If i wanted a link that takes me back to this article i’d just refresh the damn page.

Rebel Engie GeekySharp No very often it points to a tag page on Massively. I can see why they do it, but it’s a very bad practice. Given their very high standards elsewhere, it’s a very amateur way at trying to retain traffic. Just link out to sources that open in a new tab, job done :)

I would love you (all) to stop using the term “pre-alpha”.
It’s Alpha or Beta or Release.

Alpha means skeleton functionality with mostly place-holder code implemented just to show what the software would look and feel like. Beta means intended functionality implemented, but not yet fully tested.

“Pre-alpha”, *if anything*, would mean something you have just as an idea that you have not started implementing yet … at all.

Some devs started using this linguistic aberration to diminish accountability of code they release to the public, even more so than the “alpha” title would imply and it would be best to see it disappear.

Usually the Source section points to the proper source.
This might have been just a mistake.

GeekySharp Its the only thing I hate about massively, every article with links take you back to tagged content 99% of the time, I hate it.

GeekySharp That and it’s just annoying. You click on that link expecting to go somewhere other then where you’re already at.

You guys really need to stop looping your source links back to the article, very bad form in journalism. Link the source properly please.
