WRUP: Apparently I am excited about Demon Hunters edition

I like the style these ladies have.

If you had asked me a week ago, I would have said that I don’t have any particular need or desire for Demon Hunters to be a thing. Now I think I’m legit excited about them. I don’t know how this happened, it makes no sense to me at all, it’s really not my thing, and yet here I am. I seriously am considering what it’ll mean to play one. I couldn’t explain it to you, I really couldn’t.

I will not, however, be playing one this weekend. No one will. The expansion was just announced, and thus this week’s What Are You Playing doesn’t feature anyone enjoying it. It just features all of the other stuff that we’re playing, so that should be fun. Whether or not we’re thinking about it is another discussion, but the feature is What Are You Playing, not What Are You Speculating About.

Brendan Drain (@nyphur) & Tina Lauro (@purpletinabeans): We’re on the floor at Gamescom 2015 this week. If there’s anything in particular you’d like us to get some hands on time with or any questions you’d like to see posed to developers, let us know in the comments and we’ll try to do it this weekend.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Probably nothing since we’re moving to the new place this weekend. But I have Project Gorgon and Trove loaded up and waiting for me!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Some stuff to be done in Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft, always. I’m also becoming a bit cognizant of how much stuff is sitting unfinished in my Steam library; may wish to address that.

Jef Reahard (@jefreahard): I’ll probably set aside an hour or two for Project Gorgon. Other than that I’m not doing much gaming this weekend.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I have two big goals for the weekend: To get some more facetime with Project Gorgon (and defuse my character’s cursed gigantic head) and to make some serious progress with my Bounty Hunter in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Even with the 12x leveling speed on, it’s still such a big story that it’s taking me a lot of time to get through.

Larry Everett (@Shaddoe, blog): I’ve got a SWTOR guild meeting on Sunday as well as my raid. Other that that, I’m trying to find a way to help pull my server’s RP community a little closer together; it seems to have separated with the introduction of strongholds. I’ve found that RP in MMOs doesn’t do well without a bit of critical mass. Hopefully, I can find more people to help me build that.

Matt Daniel (@Matt_DanielMVOP): I’ve downloaded Project Gorgon, so I figure I’ll probably pop in and see what all the fuss is about. Aside from that, it’ll probably be my usual array of Final Fantasy XIV with the occasional dash of Marvel Heroes and maybe some Hearthstone for good measure.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I’ve got EverQuest II, Ark: Survival Evolved, and Project Gorgon all lined up for this weekend. I’ll also toss in a smidgen of Grand Theft Auto Online and The Secret World. I may have to binge play while I have the chance and go off the grid for a spell.

Justin Reiter: Primarily playing Guild Wars 2 at the moment, anxiously awaiting the weekend beta to play around with Masteries and figure out what order I want to progress through them. Also trying to tackle the impossible task of getting though my single-player backlog (currently playing through the Baldur’s Gate saga; “not a small time investment” would be an understatement).

Jake Dunnegan: Neverwinter! I’ve been something of a harsh critic of the game, mostly due to the nature of its cash shop. However, having been a longtime D&D player, having a stronghold when a group gets to a certain point is almost akin to attaining the American dream, D&D gaming-wise. “Level up, get a keep, defend it, grow it, conquer neighboring territories, plan a flag, start a church, become a demi-god…”

I may be getting ahead of myself. In any case, the new expansion drops this week, and my tiny guild and I want to be ready for it! So I’m re-acquainting myself with upper levels in Neverwinter and perhaps playing some Heroes of the Storm as well. If I can somehow squeeze in a few more moments of time, The Secret World.

Brandon “KythasWraith” Adams: The plan last weekend was to play Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward while hung over, but the only part of that I accomplished was the hangover. I discovered my Fallout mods do not play nicely with Windows and spent the entire weekend (and this week) trying to fix them. What? I’m a compulsive troubleshooter! The plan for this weekend is to drop the mod fixing and to finally get back into FFXIV and earn myself some new ilvl 200 gear. Also, there was a new Star Citizen patch I plan to tinker with. If any of you have a stellar X52 Pro profile for Arena Commander, please let me know!

Your turn!
