Nexon and Cliff Bleszinski revealing mystery game tomorrow

Gears of War developer Cliff Bleszinski has been hard at work at his next title, code-named Project Blue Streak, for a while now, and this week he’ll be revealing all of the juicy details.

A teaser site for the game has gone up, although Bleszinski confirmed that “The Shattering” in the URL does not refer to the new game’s title. A countdown timer on the site points to tomorrow while a brief video shows a broken, post-apocalyptic world with sirens going off in the distance.

Project Blue Streak has been assumed to be an online first-person shooter, although this has yet to be fully confirmed. The fact that it’s being published by Nexon gives us reason to hope that there will be MMO elements if not a full-blown MMO experience under the hood.

You can check out the first teaser video for the game as you wait for tomorrow’s reveal!

CliffyB and Nexon? This might be the game the world has been hoping never comes to be.

Drinkfist Neither of those games are like Team Fortress. But I get what you’re saying. Battle Born and Overwatch are right around the corner and Super Monday Night Combat is still kinda chugging along. There’s also that one steam punk game with people from history in it that’s out now and another one that’s more melee oriented that’s also coming around at some point.

Nexon has Ghost in the Shell Online just chilling in Korea with plans to make a NA/EU Release and there hasn’t been a peep after Dirty Bomb dropped. Probably because they don’t want to compete or oversaturate their own damn market of free to play FPS Team Fortress games. Now this GOW guy is on the payroll to do more of the same. Just give me Ghost in the Shell Online and be done with it.

this could be pretty decent. I know nexon gets a lot of hate for its monetization practices but when I was playing DragonsNest I never really spent more than I would of if I were playing a sub based game, and most of that stuff was just cool looking things and pets.

Mr. Bleszinski? Is that you?
The PC’s the place for FPS shooters now? It’s not all World of Warcraft and The Sims games? Hmmm… Yeah, with Nexon in tow players might just want to keep their guard now that his focus has shifted back to the PC since he’s definitely not doing it for the love of the platform.

“I think people would rather make a game that sells 4.5 million copies
than a million and “Gears” is at 4.5 million right now on the 360. I
think the PC is just in disarray… what’s driving the PC right now is
‘Sims’-type games and ‘WoW‘ and a lot of stuff that’s in a web-based
interface. You just click on it and play it. That’s the direction PC is
evolving into So for me, the PC is kind of the secondary part of what
we’re doing. It’s important for us, but right now making AAA games on
consoles is where we’re at.”

Dystopiq Yea but why go to so much trouble creating a game world that’s falling apart like that if it’s just an arena based game?

dewdodu “..clearly do not know what they are talking about”

Everyone on this site is fully aware of what Nexon is all about.  Let’s expand that to the MMO community at large, and take it internationally.  Sorry, possum, Nexon’s trick has been out of the bag for quite some time, and there are no surprises here anymore.

There is a very clearly understood reason why people are dismissing this corporate marriage.

Sorry I fell out of the loop with knowing whether or not he dropped out of Epic and his game stayed.  But he did have something to do with the game. It was his game. HE personally announced the game at the VGA’s in 2011
