Guild Wars 2’s week of dev blogs continues, this time with an update about guild hall arenas. ArenaNet calls its new guild hall arena a “combat sandbox,” and today’s dev blog is designed to give you an overview of the tools at your disposal when entering the arena.
Initially your guild arena will start with two teams, but a third can be unlocked via an upgrade. Upgrading will also cause an Arena Obstacles Coordinator NPC to appear. Talking to said NPC will basically turn you into a decorator, with the added bonus of being able to manipulate obstacles even while your guildmates are duking it out in the arena. Unfortunately, you can’t use normal guild hall decorations in the arena, nor can you use arena obstacles as decorations outside of the arena platform.
