Black Desert slides into alpha testing

What’s the next hot MMO import? For many it’s the luscious Black Desert, which will be coming out in the west early next year. But for a lucky few, their journey started this week as the sandbox began alpha testing.

The alpha test has a level cap of 30, only has the first two zones available, and limits PvP to level 20 and beyond. Additionally, the team has disabled the cash shop, lowered the penalties for player killing, and artificially slowed progression.

Testing spots are “very limited” for the first phase of testing, although there’s always the hope of more expansive alphas and betas in the future.
