Massively OP Podcast Episode 36: Team Sparkles

Bree is the world’s biggest vampire and Star Trek fan! This and other dubious “facts” are what you’ll discover on this week’s show, as the podcast crew talks about CCP’s White Wolf sale, several major game updates, and something called “post-purchase rationalization.”

It’s the Massively OP Podcast, an action-packed hour of news, tales, opinions, and gamer emails! And remember, if you’d like to send in your own letter to the show, use the “Tips” button in the top-right corner of the site to do so.

What I would like to see is a voice chat feature for parties. Everyone who joins a party would be in voice chat with all other party members. It is to hard to type will fighting..

That may be true, Bree, but I think that the core audiences are likely to be fairly different for a classic or even New World of Darkness based game and something like ‘the Revival’.

Always a pleasure to listen to the podcast!  Bree and Justin are such naturals.

Anyways, while Bree was trying to think of her PPR phrase, I kept on mouthing the words, “Sunk Cost!  Sunk Cost!” only to be wrong, although it’s pretty much the same thing.  I probably have tried to be like Justin, and rationalize an iffy purchase to *myself*, but I’ve never understood why people feel the need to project that onto others.  Just annoying.

Phrase of the week:  Minimum Viable Halloween!

breetoplay Zax19taken But the horror of waiting.  Woe is us, we get no discussion on HoT and we must wait another week.  WOE! WOE IS US!!!!
But seriously, glad to hear you got the pc together and waited one week, I’m sure we can all wait another.

Whoops, posted this on the wrong comment section… I think I need more coffee…

I tried to have that discussion on the HoT forums about how just because you need people for a hero point or event doesn’t make it social.  If you can replace players with a NPC and not notice the difference it’s not social!  Hell!  NPCs have scripted conversations more than players do!  But everyone is all “LAWL!  It’s social because you need more than one person.”  Not at all. If you added followers to GW2, I don’t think anyone would notice if you gave them the ability to dodge, hell they might perform better than some players.  /shrugs

breetoplay SirMysk Needs (More) Coffee, Probably Huh. I am too much of a WoD fanboi to do anything other than strongly disagree, but that’s possibly because I’m just that biased.

Zax19taken I hadn’t played (think I explain midway in that my gaming PC was dead for a week and a half). We’re planning a special Tina episode this week as long as Justin’s wife doesn’t go into labor. :P
