Illaoi is the “Kraken Priestess” whose shtick is being able to summon hard-hitting tentacles to reinforce positions. In fact, hunkering down and protecting areas is where she’s the strongest, and if given enough time to turtle she’ll become a placeable fortress on the battlefield.
The new champion comes with League of Legends’ Patch 5.22, which the team is calling the “preseason” to all of the big changes to come in 2016.
“This is a time for learning,” Riot advised. “A time for experimenting. A time to reassess what you know, and to express yourself the way you want. We should all feel comfortable enabling one another to try new builds, new compositions, and to push the boundaries of what we’re capable of. You just might surprise yourselves.”
