Blade & Soul makes Western debut on January 19th

If you’ve been waiting for the localized launch of Blade & Soul for what feels like an eternity, your wait is nearly over. The game is officially launching on January 19th in North America and Europe alike, with more beta tests taking place between now and then. Founder’s Pack purchasers will be able to access the game on January 15th, while name reservations will be available starting on January 11th.

Want a little more time to try the game out before buying in? The next beta weekend runs from November 24th through November 30th, giving you a new and exciting excuse for avoiding your family during the holidays. At launch, the game will have a level cap of 45 for all seven playable classes, and 30 dungeons along with the 1v1 arena once you’re done with questing and exploring.

necrologyx Yup, I remember seeing the debut trailer in 2009 thinking it’d be great.  Now?  Not at all.  Plus, I already thought I played this game once, but it was called Tera I think.

Just my two cents, of course this is all opinion….

I have been following this game for years. I tried the korean beta years ago and was excited, and I got the beta for this weekend for the US release. Game is pretty. It runs well. So far there is nothing that screams “wrong” with it. Other than its like, 5 years too late. It’s not bad, its just…. I dunno. It feels like every single other MMO that has come out in the past 11 years. After playing it for a bit i logged out and thought “why would I play this instead of wow? or even ToR or Wildstar” (a game that i have 11 years into, and two games that I’ve at least become somewhat established in)? Not one reason jumped out at me. IMHO Wildstar combat is more fun, ToR has a better questing system, and WoW has people that I have played games with for years.

::shrugs::

Again, 4-5 years ago or whenever it came out overseas this might have been cool…. but now? Meh.

TacoBellMan jsmooth1 xPhenomen Wratts  Skyforge feels clunky and disjointed compared to the sheer amazement that is B&S.

TacoBellMan @collagen123 Except most of those story quests can be broken down into fetch, follow, kill x etc. Just with a bit of voice over to justify it.
Honestly with a game like B&S, quests are just an excuse to kill things, because that is the games strength.

Awesome, even sooner than I expected! It’d be kind of nice to try beta on this, but I don’t foresee any founder’s purchases right now. We’ll see how bored I get over the holidays.

Loopstah I think it’s more of a tank/control/support dynamic.
Honestly didn’t get that far in the last CBT. It’s definitely not a traditional trinity-style setup, I know that much.

Vanblod Loopstah I see. Does the gameplay allow for a more organized trinity-style dungeon crawling, or is it more akin to GW2 zerg?
