With virtual reality headsets hitting the market, a hot topic in the MMO community has been over when we’ll be seeing VR merge with our favorite types of games. It turns out that this hypothetical future might already be here with the advent of Wizard Online.

Wizard Online is currently in alpha testing and has been developed for both Steam’s HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. In this dark fantasy world, players will fight against demons, tame dragons, and live out their Gandalf dreams. Some of the biggest bosses could permanently kill you if you lose against them, so players have to decide if the reward is worth the risk.

The game supports motion controls, a full-VR mode, and a more system-friendly VR mode that only kicks in during boss fights and other special parts. Wizard Online was made with Unreal Engine 4 and could be one of the first games to market to support DirectX 12. The team promises that a trailer is on its way soon.
