Make My MMO: Elite Dangerous’ Oculus launch (March 12, 2016)

Frontier confirmed this week that Elite: Dangerous is indeed destined for the Oculus Rift; in fact, everyone who owns the game will be able to download the Oculus version at no extra cost and play it beginning March 28th, the day the Rift itself launches.

Meanwhile, we got an in-depth look at Shards Online’s skill system, Project Gorgon dropped a mega patch, and we prepare for the arrival of Sacrament on our list as it’s headed to Kickstarter next week.

Read on for more on what’s up with MMO crowdfunding this week and the roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’ve got our eye on!

Starconflict is an actual game and they don’t do overblown marketing stunts to lure in more suckers. Everything from Frontier is smoke and mirrors selling stuff but the actual game is as lame as ever and it will never change, it’s lame by design. I’m done with that company since they lied about fixing the ridiculous combat logging, it’s unfixable with their cheap peer to peer setup.

Defector1980 BalsBigBrother Cotic_OP LordOfBread Kind of,  look in the comments part of the faq http://massivelyop.com/faq/ and it points you towards the link for a mute script.  Its a bit fiddly to get going but it does the job :-)

Great, I play a ton of ED but I’ll never get into the VR. Way to expensive for a peon like me.

LordOfBread “Massively, PLEASE listen to my trolling and do something about a game I don’t like, even though it really has no bearing on my life at all!!!111one.

And MOAR coverage for Star Citizen please, it’s the only game worth reporting on really.”

Cotic_OP LordOfBread I hate doing this but I am fed up of seeing anything that mentions E:D shit on because someone has a chip on their shoulder and can’t seem to move on after nearly two years.  So yeah you wore me down LordOfBread but I am making use of the Livefyre ignore filter so I don’t ever have to see your poop again.
/sigh :-(

Cry more Cartmanboy, let your hate really flow.

If you took off your bias glasses you’d remember the original patch of Oculus support was released to backers with zero fanfare, they only made a bit of noise about it this time because there had been a rumour going around since the Eurogamer article that Oculus support was dropped in favour of HTC Vive. This is the best way to address it.
The game released 18 months ago, don’t you thing it’s time to get over it now? You’re Frontier’s very own little stalker, so much anger and bitterness over $20.
I really don’t understand why you care so much about something you really don’t like, such a strange way to behave.

The Elite marketing is annoying as hell, advertising another  fluff feature others deliver in a weekend patch. How exactly is this in a crowdfunding category anyway, it has investors, sticking in the rear of Microsoft and now Facebook, and the so called crowdfunded game was never delivered. Where is the “kickstarted” single player game? Where’s the modding? Right, got cancelled. This does not deserve to be in a crowdfunding category.

btw Star Conflict patched in Oculus Rift support over a year ago without a marketing circus.

Some folks have gotten it to work with OSVR already sans head tracking.
