WildStar welcomes players to Arcterra

After talking about it for months, WildStar has finally opened up Arcterra for exploration and general looting.

The frozen continent looms over today’s content update, offering high-level players a new stomping ground full of world bosses, quests, reward tracks, and story mysteries. In the region, players will quest to find the Vault of the Archon, a locale that future updates are supposed to fully unlock.

There’s a lot to check out with this drop, including updated daily rewards, extra housing stuff, and dynamic events. Make sure to read all of the patch notes to see if the team addressed any of the bugs or issues that have bothered you!

It won’t save it, but neither will a Champion-esque year of silence and no content updates.

Bannex19 It is a bit heavy with the RNG… bad RNG can cripple a player.

Ethan ‘Isarii’ Macfie Wandris Kherova That’s just the thing it does not need anything major to happen. Everything “major” that will happen with Wildstar outside of steam/Redmoon has already happened. The game needs minor things now. MMO’s require careful cultivation and refinement. It needs to build a following of players which will stick with it for years. At this point there isn’t anything major which will do that overnight. Wildstar has a damaged reputation which needs to be mended, it does not need hundreds of developers to accomplish that, just smaller content updates as well as minor improvements and time.

There are many ways to pump new life into a game without releasing an expansion which takes years and millions of dollars of dev time. The game as it is now has a great deal of content, as well as good replayability which can be improved further.

Wandris Kherova “Game doesn’t need saving”
Look. I like Wildstar as much as the next guy. I wish it well. But they just laid off half their staff and cancelled the Steam release and the expansion into the Chinese market. You’re deluding yourself if you think it doesn’t need something major to happen for it to survive.

Getting their contractually obligated winter-themed expansion out of the way I see.

Kherova Game doesn’t need saving, many are still playing. Having spent the last few hours playing the new zone it is one of the better additions to the game. The biggest thing working against Wildstar is a perception that is perpetuated by those such as yourself who don’t play the game but sit on the sidelines condemning the games existence.

Only have so many hours in a day. Would rather play a fun game than a bug filled shit show. BD is a beta quality game at best, it needs tons of work.
Wildstar really is much more enjoyable for me.

Expansions don’t usually save any games, and aren’t designed to. If a company makes one to ‘save a game’, they are doing it wrong.
If the game is tanking before that, it’s not the kind of thing that breathes real life into it, more like giving a dying person morphine to ease the pain while it happens.

Does anybody think this will save the game? Just asking, not playing it myself anymore and would like to hear comments from current players.
