LUX looks for other investors as its Kickstarter comes up short

Things aren’t looking good for LUX’s Kickstarter campaign. With a little over two days left to go, the multi-platform survival MMO has only raised about $78,000 of its $200,000 goal. This might not spell the end of the game’s ambitions, however, as the team said that it is looking for other investors to give LUX the funding it needs to produce a playable beta.

“While we are actively working on ways to make this game happen without Kickstarter, funding is critical,” the team posted in a Kickstarter update. “Once funded, we should be able to give players closed beta access within a few months. (Without the funding we have no set timeline.) We have a lot to go if we want to hit our $200k goal, but we’re going to see this campaign through. If we can continue to see backers numbers increasing in a big way, we have investors who will add over $1M to LUX.”

The post also addressed community accusations that the title was pay-to-win due to the benefits of certain pledge tiers. The team made some adjustments to those rewards and gave explanations of the controversial tiers.

Good luck, but there are just so many issues I can’t see being resolved for the gameplay with the game as advertised…

karmamule  Not a big fan of enlarged head art… but I am more concerned over the way the game would play at this point.  I find isometric views are usually too limiting whenever PvP or large areas come into play.

Armsbend karmamule Seriously I feel like I could just fire up Don’t Starve and get mostly the same kind of enjoyment.  Haven’t tried Don’t Starve Together yet tho.

karmamule They just ripped off Klei and it worked out really well for them.  Maybe they should beg Klei for some funds.

With graphics like that I’m SHOCKED the kickstarter didn’t succeed….  Nothing like a miniature 8-bit Yukon Cornelius to draw in the bucks.

Armsbend Basically. Realistically you can’t fund most projects through KS alone

I thought Kickstarter’s main intent was to see if there was any consumer interest.

Same comment here as I made previously on the ‘Sacrament’  Kickstarter failure announcement.  These folks should have had a playable build BEFORE coming to ask for money.
