Black Desert’s Musa and Maehwa class have arrived

If your enjoyment of a game hinges upon how many different classes you can choose between, Black Desert is getting just a bit more enjoyable today with the addition of the Musa and the Maehwa. The two classes are gendered mirrors of one another, with the Musa focusing a bit more on AoE attacks whilst the Maehwa emphasizes single combat, but both pair melee combat with archery.

Obviously, the new classes are the major focus of this particular update, but players can also look forward to new costumes in the cash shop, improved travel loop functionality, and several monster changes included alongside the new classes. But really, aren’t new classes enough for you? The servers should be up right now, so if you don’t have to worry about something like school or work, you can try ’em out right now; we’ll be hosting our own stream of the game today at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

bayspoon Apollymi I logged in again last night.  I had made two toons, tamer and sorceress?  The sorceress was gone which is too bad since I’d milked a lot of cows with her and had buckets of milk I planned to sell.  Anyway, was working on some quests and sort of reading general chat when someone started bragging about killing all the 45+ folks who were AFK fishing.  And I thought, this is why I don’t want to play this type of game.  First off, the jerk who does this and second who brags about it.  Oh well.

Loopstah The best way to learn the systems is to just jump right in.  I was very confused by the worker system and crafting in general so I decided I wanted to make steel fishing rods (that I later discovered I can’t even use yet) and went to it.  There are a lot of systems, but none of them are individually all that complicated.

Loopstah One key thing to keep in mind when doing the quests intended to teach systems: when the quest is given to you, and the info that shows in the quest helper on-screen, details are very minimal.  BUT, if you open the quest log the full quest description will have nicely detailed steps explaining how to complete the quest.  It’s invaluable for some of those tutorial-ish quests, especially when it comes to cooking or manufacturing.

Loopstah Honestly just sit down and put in the time, watch tutorials on youtube, etc.  that’s what I had to do on a couple of details.  This site has had some great articles and how-to’s as well.

Wratts those sad-thousand-yard-stare-I-seen-things goblins that mingle with human population are clearly a persecuted underclass.  Makes you wonder exactly what they did to be rejected from the society of goblin-kind…
