Surprises: They come in both the good and bad variety. The MMO industry always keeps us on our toes here at Massively Overpowered, as evidenced by this past week's multiple surprises. Bree and Justin hit the show running by tackling a surprise rescue, a surprise console edition, and a surprise round of layoffs.

It’s the Massively OP Podcast, an action-packed hour of news, tales, opinions, and gamer emails! And remember, if you’d like to send in your own letter to the show, use the “Tips” button in the top-right corner of the site to do so.

bossrprouse For me, Oblivion's highlights are the music and some of the most memorable quest characters/dialogue in the series.  I would hesitate to name it my favorite, but if I could only have one game in the series, this is the one I'd settle down with.

Nothing wrong with Oblivion. It's not as good as Skyrim and Morrowind, but I kind of like a lot of the systems in Oblivion.

Here's some tips for Tree of Savior.
Here's how to disable the annoying gold spam scroll bar.
https://forum.treeofsavior.com/t/psa-you-can-disable-scrolling-megaphone-shout-text/159837
There will still be some gold spam, especially in the cities, but it's not nearly as bad once that scroll bar is gone (at least for me)
For the control scheme I'd recommend trying a controller. Now you will still need your mouse and keyboard for things like bringing up the map and inventory but movement and combat feels a zillion times better with a controller.
Lastly you get 5 free TP a day (it won't stack past 5 though) so check out the TP vendor in your big town and you can buy a few things.

hugmonster That was the highlight of this episode for me. I love hearing knowledgeable talk like that. It gets me thinking about stuff I'd never have considered or known about.

BalsBigBrother I was somewhat mentally prepared for it by previously playing Ragnarok Online so I got further than you, but I also ended up stopping, and I will probably not go back. It was the grind that got me in the end. It's a shame too because the one time I got in some group play with healing others, it felt pretty fun.

..and with the way that mail started out, I thought we were going to have a good long talk about sausage making.
A few weeks ago the BDO channel chat got on the subject and I did a short "I worked 8 years at a US pork plant - 13.5k piggies downed everyday - AMA".

BalsBigBrother I just couldn't even believe it! I had been pining for that game since the founder packs when up and held off and held off buying one, only to log in and think, holy crap, dodged a bullet there!
And such gorgeous graphics. :(

Thanks so much for picking up my email and thank you for the open discussion and "behind the scenes" info. Very enlightening and fun to listen to!

FYI I really liked the "behind the scenes of MOP" info.

The SWG delay actually made for a cool experience. By accident the in game technology evolved over the first few months and it felt very real as a result. Walking, mounts, speeders etc. I'd love to see other games "evolve" their in-game tech slowly.

I saw the initial controls for ToS on keyboard/mouse and instantly noped. Thankfully though, it works just fine (at least for movement etc.) on gamepad, was actually playable.

BalsBigBrother I didn't even get that far.  It was all, sign in via G+ or FB and then I just closed the website.  I don't use either.  Maybe you can login via Steam, I dunno, I don't like to play through Steam either.

Bree you have mirrored my thoughts on Tree of Saviour.  I tried so hard to like it but spam and controls just made me throw in the towel inside an hour.  Its a shame because I like the art style and I suspect that there is a decent game hiding in there somewhere but it doesn't really make me want to wade through the poop to get to it.   Oh well maybe I will take another look in the future if its still around and it may click then who knows /shrugs
