Shards Online gets greenlit and adds player-run merchants

We all remember those important milestones in our life: Our first lost tooth, our graduation, our wedding, and of course, our debut on digital game platforms. So you can join Shards Online in celebrating that the game has been greenlit to appear on Steam in the future.

It gets even better: The fantasy sandbox pushed out a patch to its test server a couple of days ago that’s added player-run merchants; they allow anyone to sell practically anything in the game. When the patch lands on the official server — next week, Citadel tells us — it’ll also upgrade the game to Unity 5, add the lower levels to the catacombs, and introduce the necromancy skill line.

Don’t be expecting a lot of big developments for Shards Online in the near future, the studio warned: “Things might get a little quiet for a while as we batten down the hatches and push to get the game to alpha.”
