City of Titans cosplay takes a turn for the heroic

City of Titans cosplay has taken a turn for the heroic.

Missing Worlds Media’s Terwyn told forumgoers this week that work continues on one of the game’s main characters, Anthem, and on a costume for a cosplayer to use at future events. To build out a specific prosthetic hand for that costume, the group commissioned artist and designer A. Bleys Ingram, who had even bigger plans for the prosthetic that transcended mere costume purposes. Ingram entered his real-world prosthetic design, named ZipGRIP, into Enable Community Foundation’s Modular Prosthetic Terminal Device Challenge — and won.

“Thanks to Bleys, we’ve been working on this prosthetic since January,” writes MWM’s Terwyn. “I’m very proud of the work that we’ve completed, especially because I could have simply asked Bleys to adapt an already available design for it. But as he is also responsible for fabricating the armoured parts of Anthem’s costume, the two of us felt that it would be best to take the risk at the new design, because it would not only ensure a higher quality end product, it would also bring something new into the world. Knowing the community surrounding City of Titans, I felt that was more important.”

Score one for the good guys.
