For those who have often fantasized about riding around, living in, and fighting for a medieval country, Of Kings and Men would like to extend an invitation to check out its sandbox world. The game is going into early access on August 25th for those who have pre-purchased the indie product.
Of Kings and Men is a massively multiplayer persistent open world game set in the 13th century. Players will build up the world between waging pitched fights on horseback and on foot with up to 200 other players. While the game has battle queues, the real action is in the Epic, as the devs are calling it: The ongoing persistent world where players and factions vie for power and control over territory.
The devs promise that the game will carry the weight of authenticity: “Fight with a fast-paced and intuitive combat system, based on the experience of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) fighters and medieval manuscripts.”
