Final Fantasy XIV offers up its preliminary patch notes for patch 3.4

I have to chop SO MUCH right now.
It’s a bit unnecessary to note at this point that Final Fantasy XIV tends to have huge patches. We all know that by now. Even by those standards, the notes for patch 3.4 are pretty expansive, as the patch adds a plethora of new content to the game beyond the new Main Scenario questline and the usual two dungeons. This patch is also adding in the new Squadron system, a new rank with the Grand Companies, the new Wondrous Tails system which servers as something of an ultra-Challenge Log, and the final part of the Alexander series.

Players will also have new apartments, new aquariums, Orchestrion playlists, new emotes, more side-story quests, and an entirely new tier of tomestone items to play with. It’s expansive, that’s the point. The preliminary patch notes leave out a few details here and there, but the notes alone should be enough to excite players about what’s coming to the game on Tuesday. You can also check out the patch trailer just below as a visual reminder.
