Chronicles of Elyria seeks $3M more in funding

With the opening of Chronicles of Elyria’s web store next week, its team is working on the next phase of the game’s fundraising campaign. In a new update, Soulbound Studios says that while the $900,000 it raised during its Kickstarter was great seed money, it still needs around $3 million to bring the MMO to full completion.

“While we do have strategies in place to help raise the additional money, any funds we raise through online pledges helps reduce that amount and also provides a bit of cushion between now and our next funding round,” the team said.

The store will sell various packages and upgrades, including noble titles and in-game currency. If you’re dissatisfied with your purchase, however, you’re pretty much out of luck: “Refunds will not be given except in extreme, life-altering situations.”

Fundraising aside, the dev update did shed light on the roles and responsibilities of the various members of the in-game aristocracy, from kings and queens down to mayors. It also teased a couple of festivals that are being planned, Sedecim and the Tournament of Champions, which will come around every four months.
