This other Eternal Crusade challenges players to become the lord of the rings

All right, kiddos, it’s time to get very confused — and perhaps a little bit bemused — over the announcement of a new mobile game. So the MMO in question is called Eternal Crusade, and no, it’s not the Warhammer multiplayer title that just released. This one is being created by Chinese studio Ujoy and has a lot more to do with Middle-earth than outer space.

In fact, Eternal Crusade’s description and some of its visuals seem carbon-copied straight from the pages of Lord of the Rings. In the game, players will be pursuing 27 “magic rings” that belong to humans, Elves, and Dwarves. Each player takes on the role of a “Ring Searcher” to recover the rings and utilize their power for him or herself. All of the game’s gear will come from dungeons, and apparently player killing is turned on everywhere.

Truly, Eternal Crusade’s press release must be read in part to experience the full wonder of the game’s potential: “One day, King of Dwarf got a Magic Ring on occasion and experienced its unbelievable power. He lost its sense and became greedy. He wanted to be the controller of the world. He glared wars to Human and Elf. Therefore, wars for Magic Rings among three types of races begins.”
