Smed’s Hero’s Song enters alpha 3 for backers

Hero’s Song’s alpha 3 kicked off yesterday as promised during its Indiegogo campaign, opening up to early backers.

“We’ve automatically upgraded everyone who did not select a perk to the highest tier for which they qualify, so even if your intention was to donate, you’ll be getting something anyway,” new Community Manager Michelle “Fyresong” Butler told players last night. “Those keys will be e-mailed to the address used for your IndieGoGo perk along with instructions on adding your key(s) to Steam. If you do not see the email please check your spam folders.”

The official forums and dev blog are live now too, most visible even to non-backers; they’re already filling up with impressions, like this one from a MOP commenter, just don’t forget: This is a super early alpha, so expect the bug forum to be hoppin’, and take Smed seriously when he says the game is still under heavy development.

The sandbox is still expected to make launch by March of next year. Early access is set to begin on Steam next week.
