Star Citizen pushes hard toward Alpha 2.6

It's really the least of their problems.

Star Citizen is nothing if not extremely thorough in its monthly reports that cover the projects and focus of each of its studios and teams. With October said and done, RSI delivered a full wrap-up of all of the major milestones and progress made on the game during the month.

The push toward Alpha 2.6 is very real right now, with the devs reporting improved background animations, the next version of procedural planets, a nasty massive sandworm, ship passes, touched-up landing zones, improved graphics and lighting (such as rotating asteroids), an overhaul of the camera system, and changes to the lobby UI.

“There’s plenty more work to do, so we’re going to keep working hard on Squadron 42, SC Alpha 2.6, Alpha 3.0… and beyond,” the studio teased. “In two weeks, we will be kicking off our yearly Star Citizen Anniversary Livestream, which celebrates the end of the original Star Citizen crowd funding campaign. The event is going to focus heavily on our ship pipeline, and there will be plenty to see.”
