One Shots: A lovely holiday

If you were a dragon, what kind of dragon would you be? Perhaps you’d go traditional, with the whole “giant world-devourer” aspect. Maybe you’d be made out of odd things, like ice cube trays or old abandoned AOL install CDs. It’s even possible that you could be the type of magic dragon that lives by the sea and helps imaginative children before eating them.

Frank was on a lovely holiday in Final Fantasy XIV when he encountered this charming little thing. “Most of Azys Lla imparts an otherworldy impression but few are as fierce as Tiamat,” he wrote. The message and his right hand were all that remained after this encounter. Poor Frank.

Mystyrys took me up on one of my recent screenshot challenges to take a picture of strange flora or fauna in MMOs: “A life rift in RIFT. Is this flora or fauna or both?”

I… think we’re going to have to go with “both” and “run away as fast as your crazy little legs will allow” on this one.

“I know Halloween is over now, but I have one more shot from the virtual world’s Halloween celebrations that seemed worth sharing,” Tyler sent in. “The Secret World now has so many Halloween events that they’re literally overlapping with each other. In this case, one of the Rider event’s world bosses strayed into the sepia-toned area around one of the Broadcast’s radios. The end result was pretty spectacular, I think.”

“Over at Marvel Heroes, Benjamin J. Grimm (a.k.a. The ever-lovin’, blue-eyed Thing, from the Fantastic Four comics) heard about Justin’s request for heroic poses, but was somewhat less than impressed,” MySecretID wrote. “The Wasp had to talk him into it. (The Thing is a surprisingly fun hero to play — the voice-actor absolutely nails the character, and a lot of his dialogue is genuinely funny. If you team him with a cheerful partner like The Wasp, the contrast can be even more amusing).”

ToyFuzion makes a good case why we all should be playing Black Desert: “BDO has features for screenshot-taking that I haven’t seen in other MMOs before, and it’s definitely one of the features I enjoy playing with in the game.”

Awesome shot!
