Marvel Heroes will personalize difficulty level in its streamlining patch

Gazillion wasn’t kidding when it said Marvel Heroes was getting the biggest systems update in its history. After learning about item updates, hero powers, and the Omega-turned-Infinity system, the latest dev blog is introducing us to personalized difficulty levels. A new difficulty slider will allow players to set the level of challenge desired for each of their adventures. As you climb up the five different levels, the mobs become increasingly more difficult — hitting harder, withstanding more damage, and utilizing new abilities. Defeating these harder encounters will reward heroes with more bonuses on experience and the items they find.

Speaking of finding items, another change is incoming that addresses item find directly. Instead of the current boosts of Rare Item Find (RIF) and Special Item Find (SIF), there will be Bonus Item Find (BIF). Basically players will have a BIF bar that fills up by defeating enemies when a boost is active. Once the bar is full, players will get an immediate loot drop that comes directly from the BIF loot table, which takes both hero and level into account. If you want more details on the diff and BIF of these changes, check out the dev blog.
