WRUP: The sunset edition

And again.

At the worst times in my life, I would often watch the sunset. Sunsets are comforting to me. Every sunset you see reminds you that another day is over, that you’re going to be living a day further in the future. I never even thought it was possible to be depressed by sunsets until someone first told me that they were the sign of a day ending, of the sum total of everything bad going on. Things are ending.

But I never saw them that way. Sunsets mean a day is ending, but that also means that no matter how bad the day was, it’s over now. Tomorrow is a new day, and whatever bad stuff happened during the day that’s ending, you’ll move away from it one sunset at a time. Every day marks a new beginning, a new start. We’ve lost, and we’ve faltered, and we’ve seen horrible things happen, but it’s not the world ending; it’s just this day. Each day forward is another day toward a better tomorrow.

Cheers to the end of this awful year, yes, but there’s another one coming up, and that means we have another shot at making it better. Let us know What Are You Playing in the comments.

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Probably Pokémon Go and some Overwatch. Maybe even relive 1999 New Year’s Eve and log into Asheron’s Call (don’t judge me, I was 13!).

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I won’t be doing anything exciting I’m afraid — driving home and then collapsing in a very sick heap. However, I’m excited to get back to my real PC and Trove!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I’ll be closing out the year with some play and roleplay in both Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft; I’ve also been enjoying Final Fantasy Explorers, which was one of my Christmas presents. Also, I might just blot out the last bit of the year with a river of rum.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’ve got some big projects in mind for both RIFT and Lord of the Rings Online, so I might be getting started on them over the weekend. I am bummed that my LOTRO house went poof since I was last in the game, so maybe I’ll splurge on that new premium housing.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I will be spending time in ARK: Survival Evolved exploring the new underwater caves, then heading into LOTRO, The Secret World, and EverQuest II for the holiday festivals. I also want to get one more day in of DC Universe Online’s Season’s Greedings so I can buy a couple cool base decorations! Other than that, I will be moving ahead on my new plans for the new year. Woot for fun stuff!

Your turn!
