EVE Online fixes latency bugs, will redeploy 119.1 Thursday

Whatever stability problem CCP encountered with EVE Online's 119.1 patch that caused the studio to implement a rare rollback from yesterday's planned launch has been fixed, apparently, as the studio says it's now prepared to move forward tomorrow.

"Downtime will begin at 11:00 UTC and may be extended slightly beyond the regular 15 minutes while we use VIP time to perform extended testing of the release," writes CCP. "This release brings a selection of new SKINs for SoCT and Mordu's Legion Command hulls, as well as improvements and fixes to the Fitting Simulation window. In addition to this, there's also a new theme tune for 119.1, titled The Ones We Left Behind, as well as a whole host of bug fixes and graphical improvements."

Let's hope Tranquility won't be offline for hours again for emergency maintenance! Patch overview docs are up on the updates site for those who'd like a sneak peek.

You know, I logged in with four of my old accounts for free as an Alpha...and I couldn't even undock on any of them because every ship they have requires an Omega paying account to be able to fly, lol.  Even a lot of the junk fittings in their cargos and dock storages were yellowed out with big Omega horseshoe-shaped icons (never mind many of their actual ship fittings).

Alpha would be all right for a total newbie I guess:  they have no idea what to train and have no skills at all anyway, so randomly picking things that aren't locked would carry them for probably a month or two.

As for me, though, I think I'll go back to Destiny.

@Denice J Cook I'm having a great time on my alpha. There are some great guides out there for making the most of your skills and flyable ships. And the best thing is that it's free to play, and no one would complain about being able to play a game for free, right? Right?

On a note that's related to the article: I'm a big fan of the new fitting window and simulation, so any additional tweaks to it are gravy.

@Denice J Cook Protip: You're restricted to your race's ships on an alpha account.
