World of Warcraft is bringing back Southshore vs. Tarren Mill for patch 7.2

Fight for something, probably, whatever.

At this point in World of Warcraft, Southshore is a plague-filled crater and Tarren Mill has gotten a complete architectural overhaul. But back in the older days, Southshore was an outpost for the Alliance, and the proximity of the two towns meant that players would spend hours pushing back and forth in huge PvP struggles to take the fight to the other town. It wasn’t for rank or for capturing objectives, it was just because the two towns were right there and it was what you did. That struggle came back for a special anniversary battleground, and now that battleground is coming back on the patch 7.2 test realm.

Southshore vs. Tarren Mill is one of the first PvP brawls, a limited-time event that mixes up the usual format of a map or offers atypical maps for play. The battleground itself is a straightforward deathmatch between the two factions, so you’ll have no difficulty understanding how it plays; just kill more of the other side. More in-depth features are planned for the PTR soon, but being able to relive the nostalgic battles of yesteryear may well provide more than enough amusement for the time being.
