Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade has been patch-happy this week: Behaviour Interactive says that yesterday’s 1.2.2.4 is its fourth in a week, resulting in just under 3 GB of downloading for players. That also means the patch notes aren’t quite finished yet either — “We still have 6 pages left of the original 23 pages to parse,” the studio says. “They are actually so long they don’t even fit into the Steam Patch Notes window.”

Nevertheless, players can expect the new campaign, new loading screens, proper sound compression, map loading and performance fixes, match adjustments, bolt gun tweaks, and the “doritos” marker permanently affixed after [x] remaining enemies. “‘Doritos’ is a technical gaming term,” quips the studio. A much bigger balancing update is still expected. Complaints so far seem to center on grindiness and on the brevity of the campaign itself.

Following the launch of the game last fall, MOP’s Matt Daniel argued that the game was in no shape to call itself ready for launch, but the title has kept up a stream of updates since.
