City of Heroes fans plan April 28th anniversary celebration

Who says you can't celebrate the life of a sunsetted game? The Titan Network isn't buying it: It's once again hosting a City of Heroes anniversary party on the game's birthday, this year on April 28th, though you'll need to set yourself up with Paragon Chat to attend.

Last year's event was marked by ex-dev lore chats, an artist AMA, great music, and of course, a huge party:

A good anniversary present would be the announcement of an emulator. Been what 6 years since shutdown? Emulator would have long been playable and possibly finished in this time span... and since ncsoft isn't budging at all on the so called "deal" which in reality isn't anything but silence. Silence of not telling us a thing and stopping the flood of hate mail and trolls on the ncsoft mailbox and social media outlets.

Can't wait for city of titans but the goal was to also get the original game back which doesn't seem to be happening at this rate.

I'm one salty dude, but see absolutely no harm in this project and gathering. Making a character at the end and watching was quite an eye-opener. However, I do wish resources would be poured into 1-2 projects (versus 5), so they have a better chance at succeeding.

So which projects would you cancel?

I can see how you would take my comment personally. Wish to extend my apologies.

No need to apologize. I am always curious people's perceptions on this, because it helps me gauge how well our outreach is doing.

I never got to play this game. I just remember seeing the box copy at Best Buy and always thinking I should buy it, then when I finally decided to get it they had already shut down :(

With all do respect, the only thing that would get me interested in this if a flightless bird called an emu was involved. Just saying.

So what you're saying is that, if someone made a character named Emu with wings and super jump then you'd be interested? Perhaps we could sweeten the deal by giving them pink pigtails? ;)

Free pink pigtails for everyone?

Seems a tad unhealthy, but so does sitting in front of a computer for hundreds of hours playing games so who am I to judge? Hopefully one of the superhero MMOs in development gets to the finish line and gives these folks a new place to play.

Eh, it could be fun to jump in and chat about a bit; maybe run into someone I used to play with and have a few laughs.

Do these people also throw parties on dead relatives birthdays too? (Comment edited.)

Of course in this case we didn't break-up. She died.

I would hope one day to find a game that had its hooks into me like coh did. I miss it all the time.
