WildStar is giving away max level 50 toons for logging into its next patch

Happy Monday! Who wants free stuff? It’s better than candy: It’s a free max level toon in WildStar for its “Free 50 Frenzy” promo.

“Just log in after the Power of the Primal Matrix update is released and you’ll have a free character boost available at character creation for you to make a new level 50 character with. This is a one-time use offer, so be extra sure you’re creating the character you want to before finalizing it. Once your free level 50 boost is used, it’s used up forever—no takesy-backsies!”

There’s already a paid character boost in this game, mind you, but this freebie one will come with a full set of DPS gear, a full set of one flavor of support gear, path rewards, a mount, a housing teleport, and a capital city port.

Primal Matrix launches on Wednesday; you’ll have almost a week to log in and grab your freebie. And hey, while you’re at it, why not swing by our Choose My Adventure column: We’re currently in the midst if a WildStar playthrough.

I always take these free boosts when available if only to support the character I actually care about who is leveling.

I’m holding out until I get all rep, achievements, crafting and a professionally decorated house included for free. What, do they think I have time for this stuff?

I thought burnt hair smelled bad. This desperation makes that smell like fucking petunias.

That’s a good offer. I’ll probably log in to get it, but I want to level up the old fashioned way at least once. So I guess I’ll make a level 50 character but focus on a lower one.

Absolutely. I cant decide what to roll, I have a medic, engineer, and warrior at level cap and a esper about halfway. So should I use this on a stalker or spellslinger…OR should I give into my vain side and just roll a Granok engineer for the looks!

So it’s pretty much over, then?

When they start GIVING AWAY level-capped toons, that to me is pretty much a sign that a game’s about to shutter because it simply doesn’t matter anymore – not to the players, not to the devs.

From the link below:
In order to complete the matrix it will take you 270 days of not missing a single daily and that is only if you are subscribed, if you choose not to spend 15 dollars per month or pay gold in-game for a monthly sub via CREDD then it will take you 405 days of not missing a single daily.
“Okay, well I don’t mind spending money for a game i like, how much money does it take to reduce the dailies needed by 1 day?”
Reducing the dailies required by 1 single day takes 375 service tokens, which costs $9.23 (tax not included).

And I thought the “What a long strange trip it’s been” achievement in WoW made me hate festivals… this one would put me in a tower with a rifle.

SWTOR gives one away each expansion. WoW does the same. EQII has in the past.

I dont know about set of, but wow and eq2 have both given away NEAR level cap toons (ie the level the new content starts at), not completely at-cap characters. That’s a big difference.

Leveling is so fast, I see little difference.

This stinks of desperation. Also that long winded reddit post makes the update seem like a big mistake. Doesn’t matter to me much though as I never could get past the cartoony visuals to play the game anyway.

Cool, I’ll give it a whirl. I tried Wildstar and liked it, not enough to keep at it but maybe skipping the leveling game will change my mind on that. If not, it’s not like it’s costing me anything.

Do zones work like GW2 zones where your lvl automatically syncs to the appropriate lvl, would be nice to take this max character and take my time to do the storyline as well as the max level stuff?

Unfortunately there is no level sync. You would be hitting as hard as a lvl 50 no matter where you go.
BUT the World Story quests (the main narrative of the game) is fascinating and worth experiencing. As a lvl 50 you would have access to it all without any interruption. Also quests are always clearly visible regardless of your level, unlike other mmos where once you out lvl a quest it turns grey or otherwise difficult to see.

Edit
Forgot to mention there will be lvl sync for dungeons, at least.
