Marvel Heroes adds Nick Fury to the cast and offers Medusa as a team-up option

The 62nd playable hero has been added to the Marvel Heroes roster, and he is tired of these mother-[REDACTED] snakes on this mother-[REDACTED] plane. He’s Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and patron saint of ignoring stupid decisions. You can play the cyclopean Samuel L. Jackson avatar with his first two costumes, one based more on the comic book jumpsuit-with-boots, the other one based on the more subdued look from the films.

Of course, if you really want to go the extra mile with making references to Jackson’s most famed cinematic role (warning: cursing), you could team him up with Medusa. Granted, this version of Medusa is one of the Inhumans rather than an explicitly snake-haired monster, but why should that hold you back? Team them up, and then you can clear all sorts of content with a partner who will never get upset when you ask every single enemy you’re killing if they speak English in What.

Big fan and supporter of the game but not completely excited because it’s “guns” and we have Punisher, Deadpool and Cable to name a few :-D

Wait, does this mean that you can’t pair up Medusa and Black Bolt???

Why wouldn’t you be able to? Black Bolt’s a character, Medusa’s a team-up.

He looks more like Chris Rock.

That’s probably not entirely unintentional. They’re not actually allowed to make characters or movie-based costumes look like their real life counterparts due to licensing & royalty issues.

I meant Dave Chapelle. I’m horrible with names

I think he has more a Keith David look, than a Chris Rock

I don’t actually care much about the character, even though he’s actually one of Marvel’s oldest. I never read his prime 70s stories. Regardless, no matter what they’re doing in the MCU, I’d appreciate if they’d add at least a costume/skin for the Nick Fury that I grew up with. Can’t have enough guys running around the Marvel Universe with Stan Lee colored hair. Right now the only representation you have in game is Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Strange.

I could get him I suppose from the free currency I got the other week but honestly my desire to play Mavel Heroes is not what it was so I might just hang onto them until I get the spark back.

I got him with the free currency, but sadly he didn’t live up to the hype. I recommend you hang fire until Gazillion have finished the proposed updates (no omega items yet).

that’s not nick fury, unless they’re suddenly doing ultimate universe heroes in MH.

looks like nick fury jr, which is a really really awkward character. personally i’m more a fan of maria hill, even tho her MCU portrayal is not that good (she’s better in TWS than avengers tho, but i didn’t recognize her in avengers at all.)

i miss oldschool nick fury. he was such a hard ass. it was great.

this is original nick fury btw. nick fury jr and nick fury from ultimate universe both look like the header image. ultimate version was prior to the MCU as well but was modeled on Sam L.

Nick is unbelievably bland. He’s Black Widow and Punisher with really bad summoner passives. It feels like Gaz made him to finish the Advanced Pack so they didn’t have to worry about Advanced Packs anymore.

And from an isometric perspective, (the way the game is actually played), Medusa basically looks like Cousin It. Just a bad all-around job by Gaz this time.

I would have liked to see him as a ranged (Punisher) summoner, I envisaged him leading large squads of shield agents(or howling commandos) into the fray. Even with all his summoning passives, the Nick Fury insignia, the communicator legendary, and the shield agent team up, I couldn’t quite capture that feel. Also his Punisher-esq abilities felt horribly under powered (e.g sniper shot unable to kill a blue level elite).
