Marvel Heroes’ console version will include local co-op, beta begins Friday

Add this to the list of cool stuff for console that PC players are unlikely to see: Marvel Heroes Omega is getting a local co-op mode. Gazillion Gameplay Engineer Andrew Hair dropped the news on Twitter this morning.

The studio announced Marvel Heroes Omega earlier this month. A console port had long been expected, but players weren’t really anticipating that it would be so trimmed down (launching initially on PS4 with only 38 of the game’s 60 playable characters) and separate.

Beta begins on Friday, as do PS4 founder pack sales.

Now I will spend money on the game

Oh wait no I won’t since they are giving PC players the finger yet again.

I wanted to rage cause i thought it was gonna be like Diablo 3. Online and offline only for consoles.

Awesome. Such a long time coming which was indicated when the initially announced controller support was in development.

As said below, fix inventory management. I’d happily pay $60 for this game if it gave me a comprehensive inventory overhaul and 8 free characters of my choosing

Local co-op makes this VERY appealing. Love playing games with my kid.

But gdit, hope they fix the miserable inventory system.

If I have to spend 75% of my time in game on the PS4 dicking around with my inventory, I won’t spend a penny on the game.

Isn’t “inventory management” fill-ups the nature of F2P… introduce a sheet-load of different currencies, etc. so we fill up your inventory and you are tempted to spend real $$ on inventory slots. Rift, Tera, etc.

when they would even do that…. the only space you can buy is for your stash (bank), you cant buy inventory slots. ppl would throw money at their screens when they would do that, but it seems they dont understand that.

I’ve tried marvel heroes several times and really just couldn’t get into it, so it’s console release didn’t really interest me. Local co-op, however, changes that. Love to be able to play co op casually on the couch with my spouse. I’ll have to give this game a fourth try when it launches on console.

Is the only way to get into the beta to buy a founder pack? Hardly seems like a closed beta, and more like a paid early access /demo.

This is pretty exciting! My partner recently found out she loves playing diablo 3 coop, and this will work if she gets bored :D
