Conan Exiles patches in 50 emotes, exploit fixes

Update 25 has landed for Funcom’s in-early-access survival sandbox Conan Exiles, bringing with it 50 new emotes as promised. You’ve got the basics, like shrug and point and dancing, and then you’ve got “laying [sic] seductively,” “spank,” and “belly dance,” which is totes what you should be doing in a brutal world where everyone wants to kill you.

The update also fixes several ongoing exploits, including a dupe issue and that pesky problem of “accidentally” falling through the game world and raiding people’s bases.

And this line in the notes is cryptic: “Seeing dead people can now lead to great rewards.” Hmm.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go over here and emote sleeping on the ground. I’m sure it’s safe to sleep here. What could go wrong?

By percentage, CE’s launch on steam did worse than No Mans Sky in the same time period. They’ve lost 90% of the player base from the peak numbers at launch.

Me too, and the game seriously can do so!

I’m glad they had money to do this. I assumed they spent the whole development budget on the dongtech which is really impressive. They had to have at least one developer completely devoted to making the best dongs in video games ever.

Oh please. Second Life puts this to shame for working, animated naughty bits.

Dear god is this true. Before Chaturbate we has Second Life.

Hell, I think SL still maintains HUGE fetish communities.

It is hard to find good dongulators with experience in MMO’s. An odd contrast with the glut of boobtricians in the job market.

Like… don’t they realize not all women are DD+?

Whenever I do a female character I always place the “boob” slider as small as it can go. Like… I’m creating a warrior not a runway model. I don’t need that painful bouncing when I’m running from shit trying to kill me.

I’m also just a small person with small everythings.

I think it should be a non-issue, personally. I know women with very large breasts naturally, and kneejerk reactions about video game avatars being too busty, to me, suggests there is something wrong with being made that way, when plenty of women are. Ya see ’em at Walmart alla time, laddie :D

They have to justify the enormous investment in the physics of soft tissue oscillation that their development team has made. And all those videos downloaded as “research.”

My female characters tend towards small and wiry as well, though there have been exceptions. It’s all about my conception of the character, and how I intend to play her.

I figure Funcom’s guy will be able to name his price for future jobs.

It seems like the “spank” emote might have a two-fold meaning in a game with so many naked people to ogle.

For a second I thought this was a gif of what would happen if a male player did a /helicoptering emote

Although I eventually want to pick up Conan Exiles, I don’t know a lot about the game. However, I remember Age of Conan had a pretty robust emote system so I’m happy to see that being implemented again.

Boom

Yeah its the same emotes from AoC.
Being able to /dance_sexy for male toons is all well & good but they need to fix the woeful combat.

Right, it’s nothing really impressive. It’s just ported over from previous systems. Something Funcom is really good at doing. And of course the whole emote mechanics date back to MUDS and haven’t changed much since those days.

Basically Funcom is being lazy and doing the minimum in the way of improvements to dazzle players. I’m so over this company, so much potential wasted.

Funcom isn’t at all the company they used to be. So many top-level and funding shifts along with losing Ragnar Tornquist just completely shifted the company’s whole approach. I used to love FC because they were one of the few who didn’t shut down games… but I’m seriously thinking AO/AoC/oTSW are all soon for the chopping block now.

Not a chance FC isn’t NCSoft they know they wouldn’t survive pissing off the bulk of their fan base.

Eh, they’ve already lost most of their playerbases in AO/AoC/TSW and Conan Exiles has been a HUGE success for them.

Between their clear-as-day desire to move away from MMORPGs spoken out-loud to the press and their re-vamping of TSW into an ARPG… it doesn’t bode well for keeping the servers on for those legacy games.
