Massively OP Podcast Episode 117: Starfall no more

Kind of a weird and fascinating week for MMOs, as an expansion has a legal showdown with a charity, a western MMO is announced, and Vvardenfell decided to come to us two weeks early. Is the industry shaping up for the most explosive June on record? It might just be!

It’s the Massively OP Podcast, an action-packed hour of news, tales, opinions, and gamer emails! And remember, if you’d like to send in your own letter to the show, use the “Tips” button in the top-right corner of the site to do so.

Warframe is pretty fun, the mobility and fluidity of the movement is the best thing about it (along with the weird future setting.) It does unfortunately get *very* grindy… still fun to pick up now and then.

I see Bree is still kidnapped in the past with Ultima Online. Someone needs to fit a time travel device onto the MOP yacht to help her.

For another F2P suggestion, if you don’t mind a different control scheme, Tree of Savior is an option. It’s worth a try, as would many of the F2P options be thanks to the business model.

For the last mailbag question, GW2 is kind of free to play in that you can play the core game without spending any monies. It does have some annoying restrictions such as time restricted whisper chat and bag restrictions but as a free to play it isn’t the worst I have seen.

Of course there is no living story and no Heart of Thorns content as those are buy to play options but even so there is still a fair chunk of gorgeous gaming to sink your teeth into.

Agreed, GW2’s F2P is a lot less painful than say SWTOR’s as another example. I’m still anti F2P/B2P but I’ll agree with your point.
