Gloria Victis massively increases the size of the world

It’s a great big world out there, full of opportunities for adventure. It’s also a great big world in Gloria Victis, made even bigger when you consider that the most recent patch has added more than 50% more world on to the existing… er, world. That means more land and more regions to explore, ranging from mountain villages to houses scattered through the wilderness. You’ll also have more animals to hunt, more resources to gather, and more overall world to explore and tame.

That in and of itself is cool, but players can also look forward to the game’s long-awaited major combat upgrade taking place next month. There’s even another world expansion being planned, along with a new culture for players to explore. So the game is getting bigger, the combat is getting more satisfying, and the space to roam is getting wider. That’s going to give you some opportunities for adventure right there.

Its a decent game, playerbase can be a bit thin… but with so many good games these days !! who can blame anyone!

I actually dinked around on GV a few months back. Felt positive about it, liked the atmosphere and the look and everything. Was a bit lost on what to really do though beyond just running between big circles highlighting events and the like. Should probably give it another go soon.

That pretty much echos my experience with it: liked what I was seeing, but not quite enough to make me put in a few hours to really get to know it. Some rainy day……

Is this game still a thing?

Of course it is. Why wouldn’t it be?

Niche product, no great media coverage (or no news to cover at all). There are several games like this that try and then disappear in some sort of maintenance mode (very slow development due to no developer around)…

The thing is that Gloria Victis has been quietly chugging along without needing a Kickstarter or crowdfunding project. They had alpha access for like $5 for the longest time. Seems like it’s either a passion project with some private/personal funding going on (maybe they’re outsourcing certain things to cut costs as well?), or they’ve set low goals that they’re managing to meet for keeping development chugging along. Supposedly it’s aimed to fully release by the end of 2017, so we’ll see how that goes.

Definitely reinstalling this after the combat update hits.
