Is there nothing quite as thrilling and daunting as when your favorite IP is made into a video game? Fans of both the Japanese manga and anime series Fairy Tale must be aswirl in mixed emotions over the upcoming launch of Fairy Tail: Hero’s Journey.

The free-to-play browser MMO announced via press release this week that it will release with six wizards that are original to the Fairy Tail universe in addition to canon-established characters. Players will select a wizard and build their team of fighters to spearhead the fight against… we’re assuming evil? Indigestion? Internet trolls? Something, at least.

Back in April, the team informed the community that while it couldn’t commit to an exact release date, this summer looked like a promising prospect. “Since the delay of CBT, many have asked for a new release date. We are still unable to give an exact date but we can say our current goal is summer 2017 (July/August unless any unavoidable issues occur). In December we explained we wanted to make the game better and change features before we launched.”

Currently the team is ramping up for a closed beta test and encourages fans to sign up on the site if interested in participating.
