E3 2017: SMITE and Paladins are coming to the Xbox One X on day one

Hi-Rez has just announced this morning that both its MOBA SMITE and its MOBA Paladins will launch for the Xbox One X on November 7th, the same day the platform itself arrives. Both games are already playable on the Xbox One proper.

The studio’s released a video for each game showing off gameplay and visuals captured with the Xbox One dev kit — and yep, it’s native 4K with 60 FPS. Enjoy!

Glad to see Xbox MOBA players get some love (he says as he goes back to playing TESO on the Xbone).

I’m pretty stoked about XBOX. None of this bone stuff either. LOL. Honestly, it’s just a Windows 10 PC in console clothing. And that’s all right. It’s a modern, relatively high-end PC that’s ready for 4K. It’s got built in 4K Blu Ray, certifiably runs games at 60FPS in 4K resolutions, all for dirt cheap (without a monitor, of course).
I’ll wait for the Christmas sale/promotion though, it will surely be offered with a games bundle of some kind for the holidays. More to the point, though, consoles are now viable for MMOs.

Yeah, I was thinking Microsoft’s marting team took another major step backward with the name until I saw what the acronym could be. Then I revised my estimate to be “a minor step backward”.

Seems odd to me that developers are letting people know that their game that is already on Xbox One is coming to Xbox One X when, according to Microsoft, everything on Xbox One will exist on One X and get better performance/enhancements without the need for updates.

Seems equivalent to announcing these games will be compatible and run better with nvidia’s eventual GTX 1100 series video cards. Well, I sure hope these incremental hardware bumps don’t break your actively running and supported games/services.

I guess it is an opportunity to ride a free wave of PR that another company created. Console Land is getting weirder and weirder.

Exactly. These studios announcing this stuff is kind of like companies putting “gluten free” labels on products like salt or bubble bath (I work for a grocery store chain, I’ve seen both of these things): even if you have only the barest knowledge of the product, you should know that was never a concern.

XBOX ONE X ON DAY ONE

I think you may have used up your X quota for the day though so hope you don’t have any more Xbox articles to write :D

I hope they write plenty more! The Xbox as a platform needs all the love it can get from the MMO dev community!
