Since healing/tanking/CC via dps to get rid of sole dps roles, still has dpsing, how about getting rid of healthbars entirely? ;P

Instead of healthbars, how about immobilising/knocking out/confusing and ultimately catching foes (CC, taunting towards traps), or enchanting/taming/convincing/bribing them (making them friendly), instead?

Former tanks could eventually be daredevils, trying to lure foes towards pitfalls or below a ledge (with friends above waiting to throw rocks/nets on them or a huge boulder, if needed, to knock out a bigger creature), running in front of them, nimble enough to be not get caught first, and be fast enough in your reactions to dodge the trap yourself at the very last possible moment, yet still not letting those foes lose any attention on you on the way there!

Former “1,2 faceroller” dps’ers could be those assisting (as they were actually only doing in the former dps role ;P), who throw, as mentioned, those rocks/nets, aiming and timing them properly, or who set up the traps in the right way, so they actually work (for instance, choosing the right tree to use for the slingshot trap, so it’s big enough to not being just snapped off by the ensnared foe).

Former non-violent healers, would maybe like to tame creatures instead, by first not scaring them away and trying to feed them very cautiously and close up, so they start trusting you. As for human beings, you could maybe try to seduce them, intimidate them, bribe them, or just convince them for your cause, depending on each of their attitudes.

Former CCers (if there are still any left out there ;P), would maybe like to try to reach the head enough times to finally knock them out, by either making them lose balance and falling down, or blow a powder on them or throw some hollow darts filled with herbs (which are not easy to come by), that make them lose consciousness for a long enough time to drag them into a cage or just cuffing them!

I know, I know, health bars are so intrinsically connected to games, it’s really hard to get rid of them entirely without the need of many many failed attempts, from which you can learn from. Where you finally get a new professional “school of thought” out of it at the very end, but I think it’s finally time to do way more about it!
