Guild Wars 2’s season 3 finale will include a brand-new fractal

When ArenaNet announced the sixth and final episode of Guild Wars 2’s third living world season yesterday, it was a one-liner post with a teaser screenshot that points us right back to Orr. Today’s Facebook teaser has even less info, if that’s possible: cackling laughter and a promise that a new fractal is on the way with the episode. The video isn’t even big enough to mine for a header image, so here’s a picture of a llama instead.

Expect it all on July 25th. In the meantime, we’ve got the video right here, and don’t forget to check out our recap of the whole season from earlier this week!

More fractals nice, Don’t know what that trailer was but I really don’t care MORE FRACTALS

I’d like to state that last night I was heavily sleep deprived and had spent a few hours arguing with other gamers on Reddit regarding GW2, so I was still in a ‘going to war’ frame of mind when I was reading the comments in this article. I wish I could say I was drinking that night but unfortunately I don’t have that one to fall back on since I’ve cut back on that a lot.

Not making excuses for my self only trying to offer context.

While the video didn’t do anything for me I’m excited that we’re getting a new fractal dungeon. I didn’t think we’d get any more of those until the expansion so this is good news. There’s also a pretty good chance we’re getting a new 2v2 PvP map as well as the new Orrian zone and story instances. So it looks to be a nice beefy patch.

I’m excited and can’t wait!

I find it amusing the comments here are all “meh” while on the GW2 subreddit there is a 202 post thread of people excited about what it means and wondering if it has something to do with Omadd’s Machine.

I guess how exciting the video is depends on how connected to GW2 you consider yourself. But it’s good to remember this was just a little tease on facebook and wasn’t meant to be anything more than that.

I personally thought the video and photo were BS and not worth the attention; I may be a GW2 White Knight how ever Hype is something they fail miserably at.

The “Meh” was about the video itself that ArenaNet released. It has got to be one of the least impressive videos I’ve seen in awhile.

Most people here are probably burned out or no longer impressed by GW2 after they spent the first few years basically adding nothing of lasting substance to the game until Heart of Thorns.

I agree the trailer wasn’t even worth the effort to render let alone post.

How ever you shouldn’t imply there is no end game in GW2.

There are technically close to a dozen lvl 80 maps with open world content on par with Tera’s BAMs with associated build up event chains.

World Bosses two dozen that scale to your level on a set schedule, so if you’re particularly impaired you can do this circuit for at least 6 to 8 hours straight and collect loot by pressing one button.

Counting Fractals GW2 has roughly 60 relevant 5 man encounters, by the beginning of the patch 26 Fractals, and roughly 10 Dungeons with 4 unique paths each (that automatically scale to your level). Four separate Raid Wings that have created a definitive.

4 Raid Wings that have fostered a a definitive Toxic MMO Raiding community not seen since WoW’s Burning Crusade where you have one tier of difficulty with old school class balancing that only allows you to have one useful build per class if you’re lucky and don’t play a class like a Necromancer.

The raids really irritate me. They should scale with the amount of people you bring up to 10. Build diversity is a joke too. Other than that, it really is a great game. I just wish the dungeons were challenging.

Reader

The balance team is too small to properly make all classes viable for the Raids, the only thing I hope is that participation is so low in the Raids that they introduce a lower Tier improve their Metrics.

Can you believe these clowns below us, it’s almost as if they don’t even read the GW2 articles and just show up to shit post while all the articles and facts contradict them, it’s like arguing with a Trump supporter sometimes.

It is genuinely upsetting to see content I shouldn’t have to do with 9 d-bags that are not my friends. This way of thought has gone the way of the dinosaur and needs to stay fossilized. Difficult content =/= raids with more than a regular party of people. I simply can’t grasp the concept that we can’t have difficult/challenging content with 5 people.

I still have a soft spot for raids, how ever I don’t have the time in my life any more to be that hardcore. I have recently gotten my wife to be ok with me raiding on Saturday mornings every 2 weeks when I have those week end nights off. Part of the reason I’m so bent out of shape about ANet not having an easy tier of the raids for us former hardcore now casual MMOers to enjoy.

I don’t want easy. I have two kids and the usual time constraints that many many other people have. The way raids are currently setup are a major blocker for me doing them. I’m not asking to make them easy. I’m asking to make them scale so that I could play with a smaller group. I find a group make-up of 3-5 easier to build than 10+.

Reader

I respect that and suggest you play WoW Legion which has 5 Mans that continue to scale higher in difficulty like Greater Rifts in Diablo 3.

Speaking of Diablo, I’ve got a hankering for slaughtering evil and scooping up loot while being Anti Social; I now know what I’m doing for the rest of the night.

I won’t touch WoW. I just stick with fractals, but hope one day, they change the way raiding works. Part of why I’m bitter about raids is that I only have one character, an engineer.

Read my reply above, if you’re going to say things with out thinking it out you’re going to have some one deconstruct it with facts.

Reported? Bryan, you ok, because if you look below you basically made an attack on me for agreeing that Schlag nailed the meme, as well attacking Sorenthaz there. Bad night?

I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to the loser that decided it’s appropriate to resort to making comments about my physical appearance, that’s why I use my real picture it helps weed out the ass hats.

I may not agree with you regarding your opinion on games but at least I keep it on topic as did you.

Stating facts is not an attack it’s educating some one that’s blatantly wrong. Yeah I kind of take it personal when people spread blatant lies about something I’ve made personal and financial investments in.

That said I was a bit of a dick when I stated these facts but then you two kind of were mocking some one elses stomping grounds so you should expect some one to eventually defend it.

Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up. I was so utterly confused. :) I don’t blame you for getting nasty back at someone attacking you personally. We’re all allowed our “dick-ish” moments when having personal attacks directed at us.

LOL!, you need to get out of my head! Pretty much nailed how I felt after watching the video. heh… Great Space Odyssey meme.

Hahahahaha do you know why you’re so funny dude, you say the same old inaccurate 5 year old joke about GW2, it’s like some one cracking a joke about a recent Obama policy when he’s no longer in power, read my reply above regarding End Game PVE content; it’s kind of a long list so pace your self a little.

I just realized you’ve got all these title recognizing you as a financial backer, you deserve a shout out for that as MassOP needs all the help it can get being Independent; with that in mind since you’re actually paying for the news if you took the time to read the GW2 articles you’d know you were completely wrong.

Err what? You sure read a lot into my reply. I was simply saying that I agreed basically with the lack of enthusiasm for the video that ArenaNet posted. That’s all. I thought it was humourous.

Also what’s with all the hostility? Also, you sure changed your post to me, did I piss you off personally or something? Below the original post I woke up to read this morning in my email…

As I said above I could have handled that better, how ever how would you feel if everytime some one commented on an MMO that has become your main game those comments are always full of falsehoods, yeah I took it way too personally and it I probably shouldn’t comment on other sites after arguing on Reddit for two hours.

So to you I apologize at least, Sorenthaz though crossed a line and made it personal.

The new fractal dungeon requires us to be plugged in to the Asura gate matrix? The Llama was certainly more interesting.
