PAX West 2017: Ashes of Creation documents its event showing

We have to admit that after years of MMOs being downgraded on the exhibit floor of PAX, it’s great to see some titles getting a nice showing this year at PAX West. One of the biggest exhibits, as a matter of fact, was Ashes of Creation, which constructed a giant portal and set up demo stations for the public to experience.

“It was really important for us to come to PAX and show the community the amount of work that’s being put into Ashes of Creation,” yelled Intrepid Studios CEO Steven Sharif over the din of the crowd.

With so much money and effort being put into this PAX showing, it makes sense that the team wants to squeeze as much mileage out of it as possible. To wit, it has documented each day of the game at the show, which you can watch after the break, then stay tuned for more as PAX wraps up today!

It is pretty impressive for a pre-alpha game

Okay, …is nobody going to mention the crazy guy in glasses with the red “Make MMOs Great Again” hat? Because….ya, that’s a thing…

There were dozens of them! Gutsy in Seattle, folks have gotten assaulted for wearing red hats here. I commend them for bravery and spicy memes, praise kek.

Should I put on my black hoodie, get fat and ugly, and #resist?

Suddenly I realize that Sharif sounds and looks like he could be the brother of Billy Mays.

Totally, but I have a bit more faith in Sharif in wanting to deliver an excellent product. We’ll see if the execution is there. Also, I see you on the Fortnite subreddit, we should roll together if you are still playing.

I might poke back into Fortnite, got heavily burnt out a few weeks ago before the patch though. Been seeing somewhat mixed stuff about the new survival thing.

The new survival mode is niche, due to how long it takes.

The meat and potatoes of the patch is the new Mutant Storms which basically make it worth playing again.

Oh, I guess I glossed over the patch notes poorly and was under the assumption that Survive the Storm was the main way to get the new stuff.
