WRUP: So crazy and random edition

Hey, folks, I’d like to announce for the record that I am just so crazy and random! I surprise people with my completely insane behavior, like… putting two unrelated nouns together in sequence! Or laughing at something mildly transgressive and largely hateful! Garbage pizza! Explosion soda! Wow, you just can’t keep up with my crazy behavior! Sometimes I even do something spontaneously silly!

And sometimes I sit in my neighbor’s yard for four hours at a stretch, a blue tarp draped over my shoulders, mumbling things like “the flesh is silent beneath the waves” until said neighbors draw their curtains. I squat there, and I know in my head that it doesn’t matter, nothing really matters, everything is a yawning abyss of pointlessness and it matters so little, sometimes you just want the brick and mortar and tar of this tangible world to swallow you up because then everything will be silent and you can finally rest content in your own irrelevance.

Oh, and there’s a “You Don’t Have To Be Crazy To Work Here, But It Helps” sign over my desk. So random! Let me know what you’re up to in this week’s What Are You Playing comments.

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Oh man, so excited for the weekend! I’ve got an Undertale video game book club meet (not playing, but discussing a game in detail; it seems like work, but I actually get to interact with people in real time). After that, Pokemon Go with my friend and her Final Fantasy XIV playing co-worker. Hoping to get them Raikou before it changes, especially since October 1 is when my PoGo group will be searching for whatever legendary beast comes next! But… man, my feet are getting tired from the extra walking we’ve been doing!

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Guild Wars 2.

And I might do some skilling in Ultima Online. But mostly Guild Wars 2.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog):There’s a big patch on the way for FFXIV, so I’ll be prepping up for that; otherwise, I’ve got work to do on GW2 for column purposes. That should keep me pretty well occupied.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I just started up a new captain in Star Trek Online, because that’s all I seem to do in this game is reroll. Apart from dabbling in that, I’m trying to finish up a particularly fiendish zone in Lord of the Rings Online and perhaps wrap up Transylvania in Secret World Legends.

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I have a personal commitment for much of the weekend, but I will slip in a little bit of ARK: Survival Evolved, a little bit of Secret World Legends, and a little bit of EverQuest II. When I say slip in, I mean I doubt I will manage more than 4 hours of playtime all totaled. I might also try to finish another anniversary Corgi quest or two in ArcheAge, but since I have to grind in the library for cheese I don’t see that being very successful in the short time I have.

Patron Pierre: Last weekend, I gave a try to Divinity Original Sin 2, that I enjoyed a lot. It’s one of the best RPGs I played, Larian Studios did improve their recipe so nicely. But Destiny 2 has its grip on me and I couldn’t resist going back to it. So this weekend will be Destiny 2 exclusively. On the MMO front, I don’t know why, may be because it was my first MMORPG, or because it’s a very good one, but I have been tempted to go back to Final Fantasy XI these last weeks. I didn’t, but just because free time is so limited. Darn, why do we have to lose all this time earning our living?? :D Enjoy your weekend MOP readers and tell us what you’re playing. Cheers!

Your turn!
