TERA’s Arsenal update is live with new dungeons and endgame gear overhaul

Boy, TERA, that’s a bold new look! The game’s gotten a bit of a steampunk makeover in today’s Arsenal update, thanks to the addition of the Thaumetal Refinery and the RK-9 Kennel, both brand-new level 65 dungeons. There’s more to the patch for everyone, however, in the form of a gear acquisition overhaul.

“The Arsenal update also dramatically overhauls the way players acquire and upgrade their armor and accessories at end-game, streamlining the experience for seasoned veterans and new players alike. Players now receive an in-game quest upon reaching level 65 (‘Fresh Arms—and Legs’) that grants a complete set of Guardian gear and matching accessories. This gear can be upgraded using new materials that can be found throughout dungeons, battlegrounds, world bosses, and from quests, giving players more ways to improve their gear through gameplay. Once their gear is fully enchanted, players can upgrade their Guardian gear into the next tier of armor.”

We’ve got the new trailer and pics in celebration of the launch. Hope you like gears and gizmos in your action-combat fantasy!

Well, it worked. The PR worked.

I’m thinking I’ll be digging into a Tera in the weeks to come. I don’t stay long anymore, but it is fun to duck in and look around.

Yea it’s basically my filler mmo until I find a new one which is kind of rare since I stick with 1 or 2 mmos most times. This update does sound interesting. I never liked getting a new armor/weapon and it’s not as power as my last until it’s enchanted to +6. Glad they reworked that

This gear overhaul is not an overhaul. It is the same system that has been in the game since beta. Can we please stop referring to it as one, as it is misleading.

Didn’t realize it was a press release. Guess en masse is purposely misusing the word overhaul to advertise this update…

They should still take your advice.

I hope so :( the system has always been get gear, enchant it to max, move onto next tier. Nothing about this article suggests they overhauled the system, which if they did I’d consider returning to the game.
