Bless Online will launch on Steam in 2018

NEOWIZ announced on Steam today that the global release for Bless Online is indeed still happening, with a Steam launch planned here in the west at some point in 2018.

“Will this mean Bless Online is coming to Steam? Is it being released globally? The answer to both questions are… resounding ‘Yes!’ We are so glad you are here and are grateful for your support. Bless Online development team has been busy for the good part of this year. We’ve taken all of the feedback from our community to make the game better. Our intention is to return to you when we have the game we are all proud of. The development team will be working night and day to improve and polish the experience until the launch in 2018.”

You’ll recall that the game was once intended to launch here last year under the Aeria banner, but that deal was dissolved and NEOWIZ committed to launching the game itself. The gorgeous MMO, having just gone what it called a “rebuild project,” is currently in testing in Japan and South Korea.

Wow, this looks fantastic! Color me impressed! I was originally waiting for this to come ashore here in the USA: Glad it’s still on its way.

There’s no denying this is a gorgeous MMO. I’ve come to learn that MMOs this pretty tend to mean forced PvP (excuse me, open-world PvP) and the inability to explore the beautiful world due to griefers. I haven’t really looked into the game, thinking it wouldn’t release here. I’ll have to do a little googling.

The gameplay vid I just watched most of had really obvious clipping, which for me is just not acceptable. Additionally, the action was to fast for 60 fps rendering, and the animations a bit too stiff. Fast motion has to be constrained to the frame rate, or it just looks to jerky. No one should have to have 144 or 165 framerate monitors and a high end graph card just to clean up little render issues. The world looked great, if empty and not really interactive. Also, why make the world beautiful, then cover it with floating numbers, target indicators, crosshairs as if I can’t tell where the middle of my screen is, and other messy interface problems. Good from far, far from good.

At least in its original form Bless had open-world PvP with few limitations.

Is it still going to be OWPVP?

2018 can probably be translated into Early 2019…or never.

only thing that would kill it for me is if it was P2W it just seems like an annoying culture fad coming from that side of the world every single fking mmo that comes from them is P2W despite knowing it won’t work here .

Maybe it will be interesting … hopefully, the rebuild (and success) will be as massive as the one in Final Fantasy XIV. Keeping my thumbs crossed!

That would be nice but I’m keeping my expectations a bit more modest. Still looking forward to trying it out.

Feel like I’ve been hearing people hype Bless since the early days of Vanguard.
