Lineage 2 Revolution drops launch trailer ahead of Nov 15 release

Netmarble is going all-out on Lineage 2 Revolution promotion with the mobile MMORPG’s launch slated for Wednesday, November 15th. “Lineage 2: Revolution will deliver the largest-scale multiplayer gameplay ever created for mobile when it launches on Wednesday, featuring seamless open-world environments, real-time 3vs3, 5vs5, 20vs20 and 50vs50 PvP battles, as well as lifelike fantasy world with dazzling graphics backed by the Unreal 4 engine,” says the studio, and if you don’t believe it, you could instead believe Conan O’Brien, who was conscripted for a brief commercial advertising the pre-registration.

We’ve got that, plus the launch trailer, tucked down below! Anybody stalking this one on your platform of choice?

I’ve a fairly nice ASUS tablet to have a look, but mobile gaming is not really that important to me, and will likely be more interested if it can be installed on my Nvidia Shield console (Android TV) from the Google Play Store.

This gameplay type is VERY popular in the East but I highly doubt it catches fire here in the West. None of the auto-quest rpgs released so far (Crusaders of light, Fylff) haven’t cracked the Top 50. Not to mention the Lineage name isnt really that awe inspiring here either.

I could be wrong…but I’m not wrong here :)

I probably should feel pity for Conan O’Brien, but I won’t. I can’t.

In this flood of East Asian mobile MMOs with good / above average pedigrees, hopefully there will be a few real successes which are also decent MMO games and would represent maturation for this sub-genre.

I’ll be giving it a try. But my expectations are very low. It’ll likely be uninstalled within an hour, like every other garbage mobile MMO I’ve played.

I also really wanted to like this, but it’s drenched in microtransaction currencies, auto-questing, and the gear treadmill. It looks like actually playing the game, in the sense of actively engaging in combat and crafting, is the meta-game here, while buying in-game currencies and spending them on upgrades is the actual “game”. So sad :(

I would play a new true 3d Lineage mmorpg but mobile? really not interested in this or any other mobile game, all they do is zap the battery and turn your phone into a paper weight or try and nickel and dime you.
