WildStar teases Black Friday deals

Shh, don’t tell NCsoft that WildStar is still operating! If we’re all good and still, then the closure-happy studio might overlook this struggling-but-fun MMO. So nobody make… a… sound.

Hey! What are you doing, WildStar, calling attention to yourself with a preview of your Black Friday deals? You’re tweeting now? Broadcasting on all wavelengths? Are you insane?

Fine, if you insist on talking about it, then perhaps we should share with our readership that you’re practically going to be giving away toys for just one Protobuck apiece. We might also mention that you’re going to be selling the new “Zero to 50” bundle and putting boost and upgrade items at 25% off. All sale details will be revealed next week, with the promotion happening from November 24th through the 28th.

NCSoft really is missing a huge opportunity by failing to bring Wildstar to console. It’s control setup is ideal for console (as I know from my Steam controller setup for it).

Funny.

You clearly take a skewed pleasure in seeing games dying. I ask myself why are you here? If you can’t have the least bit of empathy and social skills, don’t come here and make us tolerate your BS.

Is this still worth getting into? The official forums are pretty dead, and the Steam forums talk about how boring and imbalanced the end-game is (but Steam playerbase is notoriously toxic). I don’t know if it holds any merit, and I haven’t really played this game, I was thinking of giving it a shot.

it’s a fun game. I try and sneak a few hours each week in.

It’s a great game, if you can get past the small playerbase. It has tons of features, altho the questing is a bit lacking, imo. If you like housing, you’ll love Wildstar.

If you like the style, definitely try the free to play. It’s a great game, and if not for the undeservedly small population I’d still been playing it.

Considering that MxM had its founder packs for $100 and did not survive 8 months, by the way no refunds. I’ve spent so much, with pleasure, on city of heroes and they didn’t let the servers in maintenance mode. I can totally say despite of wildstar being a nice game I will never trust Ncsoft with a dime ever again.

amazing game, technically and visually, with great music and sound design. It would be better if they removed half of the trash mobs in some areas though. But it’s a great game nonetheless.

even at 25% off the level boost is way overpriced unfortunately. unless they previously permenantly reduced the price. i was kind of dumbstruck when i checked the price on it.

Sounds like a “Going out of business sale” to me. Given NCSoft’s track record I wouldn’t risk giving them money for a game that they just might shut down any day now.

We’ve been living beneath that umbrella for… 1? 2 years now? And it’s still going? Call me crazy but actually giving them money will show NCSoft it’s still worth it.

May I introduce you to a little game called City of Heroes. That being said, I hope it doesn’t close. I mean.. I think the devs need to have a serious re-think of what they want to do with the game. From these comments alone, it sounds like they need to scale difficulty down for endgame and fix questing. Those are two big things that are gonna keep the playerbase coming back.

“May I introduce you to a little game called City of Heroes.”

I’m well aware of it, and what happened as I used to play it. NCSoft shutdown COH without warning literally overnight with no warning, heads up or even a hint that the game was in jeopardy

I’ve seen people with the same gripe of “Why should I give money to Carbine? NCSoft could shut Wildstar down at any time” Since it went F2P 2 -years- ago, and yet the game still hangs on. Ncsoft is still letting it do it’s thing. That has to count for something right?
